What is expected from you?

Address to the right person:

Sometimes when you have a question or something to say to a specific person for example, it can happen you do not know how to address him or her.

At Stenden everyone, students and employees, have their own email address. For students it ends with @student.stenden.com and for employees the address ends with @stenden.com. The first part is always the person’s name with dots instead of space. For example: jane.smith@student.stenden.com.

In every Module book you can find the names of the module coordinators and their email address.

iStudy is always there to provide support and guidance concerning your studies.

The ICT & Media department handles questions for technical reasons that are not related to iStenden, such as login problems, questions around email and data storage. You can make a mention at the Self Service ICT https://topdesk.stenden.com/tas/public/index.jsp

Tests, Progress Test, Resits:

One thing you have to make sure is that you enroll on time in order to make the tests, resits and progress tests. Also notice that you are not allowed to make a test if you did not hand in some files or assignments, this is different every module. If you want to know how to enroll for a test, click here. When studying for tests, make sure you start on time!

Most of the tests are in the Tentamenhal. As you have to "check in" with your student card and find the right table in the Tentamenhal, make sure you are on time and bring your student card. Always bring a few pens, pencil and typex. At some tests you are able to fill in your answers on a sheet which you can take home, when the test key is online, you can already check your answers.

If you did not pass an exam, you can choose for yourself when you want to do the resit. I advise you to do it as soon as possible and do not leave them all for the last module.

Every student has to do the Progress Test. This is a test to see how much you already know. First year students should answer  fifty questions and must have twenty points to pass it. For the other fifty questions, the questions you do not answer, you fill in a F. So, in total you answer a hundred questions. In the first year, you have four tries to get the twenty points. Every module you can enroll for the progress test.

Being practive

Since you are now studying on a higher level, it is no longer the teachers’ responsibility to provide you with information about everything that is going on within the institute, such as how to module system works, homework, what to study for a test etc.

If you do not work in a proactive may, you may have difficulties passing the module. You can no longer defend yourself by saying that you were not informed since it is now your responsibility to find out what is required in order to pass tests, assignments and the whole module.  Being proactive will not only facilitate your way through the module, it will also develop you as a person to become more professional which will help you in the future.
